It was not so long ago that we could rely on plastic bottles to have nice round, flat bottoms, excellent for round cowls.
Now most seem to have this 'star' style that needs heat and forming to get rid of.

This is totally unacceptable behaviour from them.

Now I seem to spend my time checking out household wares section of shops now for alternative sources !

It also seems the toy market has changed, no longer can I find lightweight flimsy plastic figures to put in cockpits. If right size - too heavy. If lightweight then too small or too big.

What is the world coming too ?

It's possible that they needed to increase their pressure holding potential, now that amateur chemists are using them to perform shaky experiments.
Back to rc related stuff now.

The best of course were where the 'star' bottom was then glued into a flat based round black part. Those made excellent large cowls.

I'll just have to brush up again on making plaster moulds and hot air moulding these bottles to shape.
