Default Warning: ParkZone Ultra Micro T-28D elevator sticks

I just had a less than perfect maiden of my new ParkZone Ultra Micro T-28D. I'd attribute most of it to wind, but when I checked the plane for damage, I found something I'd like to share with others.

Where the pushrod for the elevator comes out of the fuselage, there's a "NAVY" decal. On my model, the adhesive of this decal made the pushrod stick intermittently. It would typically do this when you moved the stick to extreme positions. Apparently, more people than I have had this problem. Look under "Flight Report":

So if you just got a PZ UM T-28 or are planning on getting one, you may want to double-check this before your maiden.

I just thought someone may benefit from knowing this...

Yea, I had the same problem with mine.
I posted it on my review of it on HH.com
I thought I had mentioned it here as well.

In order not to visually lose the visual impact of the lettering the sticker overlaps the much bigger rod recess, leaving adhesive coated sticker exposed. This is true for both sides, Rudder and Elevator.

On mine the rod/wire run is well away from this trap, but it's easy to see why in mass production some may get too close.

I slightly lifted the stickers and used a sliver of clear tape to remove the risk of sticking action.

Thanks for the warning!

Thanks much for posting this tip. I just bought one yesterday at the Southeastern Model Show in Perry, GA. Just checked it and, sure enough, the decal was stuck to the elevator rod. Trimmed it back so it can't touch the rod. Trimmed the decal over the rudder rod exit also, just in case.

Thanks again
